Chris Schoen
Chris Schoen is a Chicago-based songwriter and composer. He was a founding member of Bingo Smith and The Unleavened, and
he has toured and recorded with The Lords of Howling.
Since 1998 Chris has been playing and composing theatrical music in
Chicago, with Theater Oobleck, The Magpies, and Teatro Circo Moderno, most recently including
Theater Oobleck's Natural History (2005, 2006), andThe Strangerer (2007).
Heraclitus is Chris's second Discobolus release,
following This Vegetable Universe from 2002
(now out-of-print). Heraclitus includes some of the songs from that release,
re-recorded in new session in Questa in July 2005, produced by Dave Costanza of Art of Flying, mixed with atmospheric
samples and four never-before-heard songs.
Chris is currently working on a set of Gallo-gypsy-themed songs for Oobleck's upcoming play "Spukt."
